Happy very belated Easter...

We had a great Easter week with a visit from Aunt Marcia. The kids love when she comes to town. Micah thinks she has lots of money so he works her for all that he can when she comes to town. Lauren loves having a buddy to play princess and dolls with all day long. Here are a couple pictures from the festivities...
Micah won the Easter Egg Hunt Grand Prize! For a hunt with more than 100 kids that's quite a feat!
Lauren was an expert collector herself. She prefered the hoarding to using a basket.
We of course decorated eggs. That's where the buck stops- we're not too good at actually eating them.
And when Wisconsinites get together, there is often bowling. What can I say?

Bad, bad blogger....

It's been a bad few months in blog land but I commit to do better, I promise!
Lots has happened since we've been away... Possibly two of the most exciting: Lauren is a permanent underwear wearer- yes, even at night. This, to me is thrilling! And the second.... we're having a baby! Anyone who sees me regularly can tell my now that I'm not just getting fat for fun... and maybe most exciting is the gender. Check out the picture for the verdict!!! Oh, the baby is due August 26th but will most likely be born a little earlier due to c-sections. Just in line with the start of Kindergarden and a big move... impeccable timing!

When Dad is away...

We take trips to Chuck E. Cheese's, personally my favorite place.
Get help with the grocery shopping.
Go to the museum with friends (notice Micah's blue painted hand).

Chocolate Tacos

Every now and then when strawberries are around we indulge in "chocolate tacos". They are a favorite at our house- crepes with strawberries, nutella and whip cream. YUM! I think we actually had then for dinner the other day, an extra special treat!

Eating out

So, I'ma dmitting it here. We did go to Denny's for the Free Grand Slam. I LOVE Denny's breakfast. Although after this last round I felt so sick I might not ever need to go back! We actually got a raincheck because the line was so long and went back as a family on Friday night for pancakes and sausage for dinner.
Also who can resist two cute kids enjoying a hamburger? This picture is blog-worthy and this seems as good a place as any to post it.
See how your life changes when you have kids? You stick to "family eateries" equals not always impressive cuisine!

Wild hair....

Yes, Micah's hair is getting long enough that we can almost braid it. A mom at school asked me the other day who Micah's hairdresser is... very funny. That's the point, he hasn't had a haircut in a LONG time!
Here's another Scott special- mohawks! So fun to try and wash out! it only took 3 days to get it all gone :)
Yes, that's an entire cup of yogurt on Lauren's head. Her friend tripped while eating and this was the unfortunate yet delicious outcome. lemon yogurt is her FAVORITE!

5 years old!!!

Well, we have a 5 year old. Can you believe it? I can't! Micah turned 5 last Thursday and we had a 3 day long celebration. Thursday started out with a special birthday breakfast and the anticipation of the mound of gifts. We had a fun dinner at Chuck E. Cheese by the birthday boy's request complete with pizza and games, lemon cake for dessert and a present extravaganza. Friday was his celebration at school where he chose birthday hugs instead of birthday spankings (tough choice) and had cookie lollipops with his friends. I witnessed him choose 3 longs hugs from cute girls in his class... hmmmm...Saturday was the big bash- 10 guests, our kids, a few siblings, it was a HOUSEFUL! We had a Super Hero Training Camp complete with capes, masks, missions, awards, certificates.... It was very very fun! The favorites might have been the pizza lunch, cupcakes and bomb pinata. I think I'm finally recovering! Here are a few pictures of the events.
Happy Birthday to the GREATEST BOY EVER!
