We're going to the zoo, how about you?

Here are a couple of pictures of our family at the zoo. The first one is of Micah imitating a bat hanging upside down in the bat house, not bad! Right after the picture of the kids in the forest of bamboo, Micah was pretending to be a monkey. He was very funny, but it was even funnier when Lauren copied him and did "oo, oo oo" and bounced up and down like a monkey too. Pretty funny!

A funny picture of Lauren standing on her toy- she stands on everything and Micah and Lauren "napping" in Micah's "spaceship"... Can you tell if Micah is fake sleeping?

Lauren loves strawberries too- just like Micah did as a baby and still does today!

Playing at the park

Micah, Lauren and I stopped at the park on the way home from Target the other time. Micah had fun showing off his tricks. He played with a little boy at the playground. They played pirates, conveniently Micah had brought two swords so they each had one. At onc point I reminded Micah to "play nice". He replied, "Don't worry mom, I won't cut his head off, I'm being really nice! " Awesome... Lauren enjoyed the food, she stole one of Micah's doritos and that was VERY exciting for her!

Playing at home

Just two little pictures... Micah playing dress up... not as anything girly, he's more the type for army guys, police men, firemen, super heros, pirates... You know the sort. And one more little picture of Lauren loving on her baby. A cute story, yesterday in church my friend was holding Lauren a ways back. She'd ask her mommy was and she'd turn around and point at me, she did 5 times! I think she was really pointing at me, her mom. Funny!

Building at Lowe's

For those of you with kids, you might already know about this. On the second and fourth Sat. of each month they have a free project clinic at Lowe's. The kids get to make something, they give them and apron and goggles and a badge for each project they complete. You should check it out, Micah loves it! This week we made a wooden tool picture frame but the next clinic is a red, wooden fire engine. And the time after that, a wooden spider. Fun! Lauren was more interested in the phone, figure that.

Bath time fun

Here's a couple of pictures I took of the kids in the tub the other night. They LOVE taking baths together, this is a habit we'll let them continue for the next couple of years but I'm not sure a gradeschooler will think it's "so cool" to be bathing with his little sister :)

Babies for babies

Ok, so what you need to know about this cute thing, Lauren has a baby doll. She's never really cared about it, then she found this one. She totes it around everywhere! She snuggles it, kisses it, plays with it, her favorite thing to do is climb into your lap with the doll and "talk" about here with you and give her kisses. It is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Well, I think I figured it out. She likes this doll because it has hair! I think she has envy for the doll, she's always stroking it and feeling it and last night she tried to grab it and put the doll's hair on her own head. Her doll doesn't have hair so she likes this one... very funny. This is actually Micah's baby but he hasn't even batted an eye about giving it up to her, just shows you that they are very different! One is definately all boy and the other, all girl.

Baking and bike rides

For the last couple of nights it's been so nice and cool outside. The kids are enjoying a walk and getting some exercise before bed (and they sleep better too!)

Micah loves to help me in the kitchen. Nice face for a mom who wants to take a nice picture huh? Lauren got up and was trying to wash her hands after she saw Micah doing it, pretty funny.

First Day of Preschool

Well, the pictures slowed for awhile... sorry. My camera mysteriously broke. Never fear, there is a 1 year warranty for normal usage. Does taking a million pictures a day count as normal use? We'll see! I did manage to find my old camera so the posts continue!

Speaking of preschool... did I spell that right? Here's a cute picture of Lauren "reading" too!
Micah and three of the other kids in his "class". We're doing Joy School this year with 4 other moms, it's lots of fun! Micah really likes all the other kids in his "school". It's cute because they are all taking it very seriously!!! This week, the first, was my week to teach. Micah really caught on and enjoyed calling me "teacher" even in his own house. The kids are already learning great things like rules, their theme songs, finger plays and their abc's.
Looks like a handful! Melissa, Colton, Joelle and Micah (Hope is on vacation).

Labor Day Fun

Here are a couple of pictures of our Labor Day adventure. We went to this little town called Murphys full of great little shops and fun places to browse. We ate at a great pizza for lunch and followed it with a swim in the river at the public park. The river runs right through the middle and it's a popular place on a hot day. It was very fun. We also found out that there are a couple of caves, a gold mine and gold panning nearby. We're definately going back soon!
